There are many attractions in Agde, which vary in nature, price and size. Below is a look at 5 of the best attractions in the local Agde area. It is worth leaving the naturist resort of Cap d’Agde for a day if you have enough time to spare.

The town of Sete in the Languedoc region

Aqualand Agde

Located at 2 Avenue Ile d’amérique, Cap D’agde,  Aqualand is a large outdoor water park close to the naturist resort and the great thing about water parks is that they appeal to all members of the family, regardless of their age.

The features of Aqualand include 9 slides, a large wave pool and a number of casual pools. With a near-coastal location, it means you can enjoy the sun whilst enjoying the slight breeze from the sea.

Musee Ephebe

(La Clape, 34300 Agde) – If you are interested in museums, Musee Ephebe will give you the chance to learn about the history of the town before it became the popular tourist resort it is today.

The exhibits include many artefacts recovered from underwater in and around the area from both the seabed and shipwrecks.

This is one of the best museums in the area.

Captain Jako

(Plage du Môle, 34300 Cap d’Agde) – This water park is another excellent option if you are travelling as part of a family group.

There is a range of activities but this is smaller than Aqualand and you may perhaps prefer the larger park.

This is worth considering though if you prefer somewhere smaller and quieter.

Golf Du Cap d’Agde

(4, avenue des Alizés) – The main golf course in Agde is also amongst the best in the region.

There are few better places in France to enjoy such a high-quality course whilst savouring the glorious views that this region can offer.

This is an excellent 18 hole course and is close enough to the resort to be a practical offer and is easy to get to if you are driving.

Fountain of the Republic

The statue is based in the middle of the town and is a historic structure which is also a good point of reference.

Combine the local street market with a trip around the town centre and a look at the fountain and you will have a good morning outside of the resort as an option.

The Real Attraction

The real attraction in the town though I think you will agree is the naturist resort itself on the tip of the town, or ‘Cape’ (Cap) as it is known.

A very high percentage of visitors to the resort only leave the place when it is time to fly home.

The resort is self-contained and has everything you need for the whole summer.

Agde and the surrounding area though is beautiful and I would certainly recommend to try and allocate 1-2 days for seeing outside of the village.

Further Information

The local fishing town of Sète is only a 20-minute drive from the town of Agde, just a little further east along the coast and is a village certainly worth the effort.

This quaint area has a number of excellent seafood restaurants, independent local stores for those of you who love shopping, and a generally beautiful area with a beach area to finish it off.
