Travelling between Barcelona and Cap d'Agde

Driving from Barcelona to Agde

Getting from Agde to Barcelona is fairly simple with the drive on the main road from Agde to Barcelona roughly a three to four drive (dependent of course on the traffic though). From Agde:

  • Take the A9 main road South to Perpignan.
  • Stay on the A9 which then turns into the AP7.
  • The AP7 will take you all the way direct to Barcelona.

By Train from Barcelona to Cap d’Agde

If you are looking at the timetables and cannot find a train between the main stations in Barcelona and Cap d’Agde then it is because there is no train station at Cap d’Agde!

The nearest station to the resort is ‘Agde station’ (a simple taxi or bus ride away from the resort).

High-speed trains from Barcelona do now stop at Agde station and the trip time is normally 2 hours and 30 minutes and prices tend to start from around Euros 80 for second class travel and for a non-flexible ticket.

Expect to pay around Euros 150 for a 1st class ticket and with flexible restrictions.

In Barcelona, Barcelona Sants station will normally be your departure station. You can book tickets here.

Barcelona Nudist Beach Area

Barcelona has its own naturist’s beach and it is alongside the man seafront.

If you walk along the boardwalk and down to Nova Mar Bella you will come across the naturist beach.

Barcelona Accommodation

There are a number of great hotels in Barcelona and a few of the options i.e. the ones which I have personally tried and can recommend, are listed below.

Hotel Pulitzer

(Bergara, 8, L’Eixample)

This is a hotel in a very nice central location of L’Eixample which is a great place to stay if you want to avoid the hectic Las Ramblas but still want somewhere very central and a great location.

This 4-star hotel provides the best breakfast I have enjoyed in any hotel in Barcelona and has a lovely terrace area.

Hostal Colkida

(Roger De Lluria 47, L’Eixample)

Another option in the same area but much cheaper and a cheerful place to stay is Hostal Colkida.

The word hostal does not do this hotel justice given that this is a great budget choice. Free WiFi is included.

Eurostars Grand Marina Hotel

(Moll de Barcelona, Ciutat Vella)

I have only stayed in this hotel once and that was because someone else was paying.

Its a great hotel and a 5-star one which for those of you with the budget!

It’s a wonderful place to stay. Lovely rooms and all the facilities you would expect of a 5-star hotel.

Things to do in Barcelona

Barcelona is rich in culture, restaurants, shops, attractions, clubs, and museums.

Whatever you are interested in the city of Barcelona has something to offer you. Things we particularly recommend are:

  • A walk down Las Ramblas.
  • A meal in the Catalan restaurant Madrid Barcelona.
  • Visit la Sagrada Familia.
  • Do the Nou camp stadium tour.
  • Visit Mar Bella Beach.
  • Enjoy naturism in Spain.

Visit Mar Bella Beach

When in Barcelona you might want to consider taking a tour of the city if you are limited by time. Below are some of the best tours which you might want to consider.

Local winery tour

There are many wineries in and around the city of Barcelona which are renowned for their high-quality produce.

The area is famous for its production of Cava, so with this and so many other varieties to explore it would be a shame to visit the area without touring these fabulous wineries, an activity which is offered by a number of companies in the area.

Whilst on these tours you can learn about the different production methods as well as sampling the various wines.

Motorcycle sidecar

If you wish to experience the intimate details of the city whilst gaining expert knowledge, a motorcycle sidecar is a great way to do it.

As the only people on the tour you will have a truly personal experience that is tailored to your needs, plus traveling in the sidecar is a fun and liberating experience.

Nou Camp Stadium Tour

FC Barcelona is arguably the best club side in world football and they regularly attract crowds of around 90,000 people, so as you can imagine, the theatre which hosts these crowds is immense in size as well as in character.

Take a tour around the pitch, changing rooms, and trophy room to appreciate the magic of this football club which attracts the best players from around the world.

Bus Tour

What becomes a relatively cheap and very good way to see the city of Barcelona is to do one of the hop on hop off bus tours.

Managing to see all corners of the city and to cover all of the major attractions in the same day and for a good cost, is possible with these bright red buses you will see around the city.

The beauty is that, as the name suggests, you can literally get on and off at any of the tour stops and at any time.

The buses are also very frequent (although very busy in peak months) so do be prepared for some waits at some stops, such as at Sagrada Familia.

Wine and Food Tours

There are several companies that offer food and wine tours in Barcelona and these normally take you through the heart of Barcelona, including down Las Ramblas and around the Barri Gotic area.

These tours are a very relaxing way to enjoy the city.
