The quiet but attractive fishing port town of Agde itself though is also worth visiting. Agde town is quite small but it is quaint and the Cathédrale St-Etienne is quite impressive. With 12th century architecture and 5th century Roman foundations, it is worth seeing.

In and around Agde is also becoming known for its food and drink. The Route des Vignerons et des Pêcheurs (Wine Growers and Fishermen Trail) is an expression being touted by the local tourism board. The trail takes you through 9 villages, with 42 stops en-route. Le Cap d'Agde itself also has an aquarium with Mediterranean and also tropical fish, coral etc and the aquarium is open year round. Within only a mile or so of the naturist resort there is also a Water-park which is great for families.
