Cyprus and Cypriot Naturism and naturist holiday travel
5 places for naturism in Cyprus
Cyprus can be quite the safe-haven for naturists. There are plenty of spots around the island where privacy can be had and combine this with the near year round sunshine, breath-taking views (of the scenery!) and warm seas, it is little surprise that the island has become such a hit with those that favour holidays with less clothing. Here are our pick of the best places in Cyprus for naturism and magturists.
1. Agios Georgios Coves - These coves are located just west of Paphos and are a firm favourite with nudists. The tall rocky cliffs have carved a number of coves into the landscape which offer excellent privacy if you wish to enjoy the beach in the nude. There is a development of villas for sale in Cyprus not far from these coves so be sure to avoid wandering onto the coastal front of this development (if you are opposite Yeronisos Island, a small island just off the coast, then you’ve gone too far).
2. Lara Turtle Beaches - Lara Beach is difficult to reach which makes it all the better for sunbathing in the nude as it takes a dedicated peeping tom to drive far down a dirt track.
It is often frequented by naturists so if you are looking to meet other likeminded people then this is the place for you.
3. Latsi-
There are a few beaches in this region; some where only females going topless is acceptable and other beaches where naturism is perfectly fine. Therefore it is essential you read the signs as the beaches where it is acceptable are clearly signposted.
The two recommended beaches are just beyond the Souli Hotel and the one that can be found just beyond the bath of Aphrodite.
4. Karpaz Beach - This beach is miles long, has crystal clear waters and offers great seclusion for tourists wishing to sunbathe in the buff. Karpaz is in the Turkish area of Cyprus and they seem to be quite hot on naturism only in designated areas so again, be sure to follow the signposts and directives. Although most of Karpaz beach is friendly towards nudity, if you are looking to go fully textile free then you need to go to the far right side of the beach just under the huge sand dune.
5. Salamis Beach -
This is the ultimate in privacy if you are looking to go eau naturelle and particularly if you are looking to cram some culture in; Salamis city has plenty of ruins to see (with your clothes on of course). The beach is only 15 minutes from the popular Famagusta area and you will very rarely be disturbed by locals or other people. That’s during the week though as at the weekends, Salamis Beach can get very crowded so a visit Monday to Friday is advisable.
